The invention relates to a lancet having a piercing element (1) for penetrating the skin of a patient, a test area (5) having detection reagents for determining an analyte concentration of a bodily fluid sample, a capillary structure (3) disposed in the piercing element (1) in order to transport a bodily fluid sample to the test area (5), and a sterile protection (6) enclosing the tip of the piercing element (4). According to the invention, the capillary structure (3) is blocked in a segment enclosed by the sterile protection (6). The invention further relates to a method for producing a lancet, having the following steps: producing a piercing element (1) comprising a capillary structure (3) open at the top on the top side thereof, covering a segment of the top side of the piercing element (1) and blocking the capillary channel (3) in said segment by means of a first material, covering a segment of the bottom side by means of a second material, sterilizing the piercing element (1), applying a test area (5) having detection reagents to the piercing element (1). |
