摘要 <p>A host compound (represented by general formula (1)) for a light-emitting layer is provided as a material for a high -efficiency organic electroluminescent element. The host compound exhibits excellent electron-transporting ability and excellent hole-blocking ability, has a high excited triplet energy level, and can completely confine the triplet excitons of a phosphor. A high-efficiency and high-luminance organic electroluminescent element using the compound as a constituent material of one pair of electrodes and at least one organic layer present therebetween is also provided. In general formula (1), Ar and R1 are each a (substituted) aromatic hydrocarbon, a (substituted) aromatic heterocycle, or a (substituted) aromatic fused polycycle; R2-14 are each H, D, F, CN, a C1-6 straight-chain or branched alkyl, an aromatic hydrocarbon, a (substituted) aromatic heterocycle, or an aromatic fused polycycle; and m is 0 to 1, and n is 1 to 2 (with the proviso that the sum of m and n is 2).</p>
