LIFTING PUMP FOR MINING MANGANESE NODULES IN THE SEA OF 100M-DEPTH

PURPOSE: A lifting pump for mining manganese nodules in the sea of 100m-depth is provided to mine manganese nodule granules by operating in the adjacent sea of 200m-depth. CONSTITUTION: A lifting pump for mining manganese nodules in the sea of 100m-depth comprises a cylindrical body(1), a motor(2), a cover(3), a pump unit(4) and a closed unit(5). The lower and upper parts of the cylindrical body are closed by a hemispherical lower cap and a hemispherical upper cap. The motor is vertically fixed to form a fluid path between the inner surface of the cylindrical body and the outer circumferential surface of a motor case. The cover consists of a main cover(31) and a secondary cover(32). The main cover is installed on the lower end of the motor case to form a first oil chamber(33) in the inner side. The pump part is installed between the axis of the motor and the hemispherical lower cap. The closed unit comprises an inner mechanical seal(53) and an outer mechanical seal(54).
