PURPOSE: A GPS terminal and navigation system where uses automobile speed information of automobile headlight control systems and the method are provided to prevent an accident by controlling the on/off the headlight through vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION: A controller(10) transmits a control signal which automatically turns on/off a headlight by using the speed of automobile information from a GSP module. An input unit(20) allows a driver selectively to input a manual / automatic option. A display unit(30) shows an inputted state to the driver. A headlight switch unit(110) receives the control signal from the controller and turns on/off the headlight.
