PURPOSE: An elevator which saves the necessary power to actuate an elevator is provided to reduce the power for a winch by vertically and horizontally applying power. CONSTITUTION: An elevator comprises an electric motor, a lifting cage(12), a hub, toothed gears(44,45), a rotary shaft(62) and a balance weight(11). The lifting cage carries a passenger and a cargo. The rope transfers the power. The hub comprising the diameter of the different kinds of sizes changes the rotational direction of the power by winding a strong rope(71). The toothed gear comprising the diameter of the different kinds of sizes changes the rotational direction with the saw blade going in gear. The rotary shaft locates the center of the hub and rotates by the power. The balance weight copes with the weight of the lifting object and the lifting cage.
