<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of preventing a part of a signal charge stored in a photoelectric conversion part from disappearing in two-pixel addition reading to a solid-state imaging element, and accurately reading the signal charge; and a method of driving the solid-state imaging element. <P>SOLUTION: By controlling a solid-state imaging element 11, signal charges stored in the respective photoelectric conversion parts 21 arranged in either of an odd row and an even row is read, and a part of the signal charges stored in the respective photoelectric conversion parts 21 arranged in the other row is read; and thereafter, remaining signal charges are read from the respective photoelectric conversion parts 21 of the other row. Two-pixel addition reading is carried out by adding signal charges outputted from the two photoelectric conversion parts adjacent to each other in the column direction with respect to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
