<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for use in a chemical process wherein a reaction is caused to proceed by feeding a catalyst while continuously feeding a raw material in a manner maintaining the amount thereof present in a reactor within a predetermined range, capable of stably controlling the chemical process even if the property of the catalyst is caused to change by some kind of disturbance, and a program for controlling a chemical process. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the step S120, the amount of a catalyst to be fed for the second time and thereafter is determined according to the calculated catalytic activity ratio scale of the catalyst. In the subsequent step S122, the speed of feeding the catalyst by a feed pump is determined stepwise, by comparing the calculated catalytic activity ratio scale of the catalyst with a predetermined threshold value Th. In the step S124, the time t for continuing the catalyst feed for the second time and thereafter is determined according to the determined amount of the additional catalyst to be fed and the determined speed of feeding the catalyst.
