<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily maintain EGR performance by suppressing generation of deposit during EGR control. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a throttle valve full-close operation in which the oil content in exhaust gas is increased, and an EGR non-operation area is set, the duration of the full-close operation is counted by a counter C, and even when an EGR operation area is determined after completion of the full-close operation, the operating stop state of EGR operation is maintained until the count value c reaches a predetermined value c0, or before a predetermined time passes after completion of the throttle full-close operation, and EGR operation is started after the count value reaches the predetermined value c0.
