PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which a zoom adjustment time is easily shortened. SOLUTION: A digital camera 1 includes an optical system 19, a zoom adjusting portion 111, a storing portion 11, and a system control portion 12. The optical system 19 forms an optical image of an object. The zoom adjusting portion 111 drives a zoom lens 112 of the optical system 19 so as to change a focal distance of the optical system 19. The storing portion 11 stores use frequency information about a use frequency of the focal distance of the optical system 19.
