PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink container and an inkjet recording apparatus capable of performing display on a position of facilitating user's visual observation without requiring electrical line or the like which may obstruct user's visibility or operability in such a configuration that information relating to the state of the ink container such as the amount of remaining ink is performed by a light emitting part such as LED. SOLUTION: The light emitting part 101 and a display part 122 for displaying the information by emitting light are separated from each other, and a light guide part 121 having a light incident part and a light outgoing part is disposed on a liquid housing container in order to perform optical coupling between the light emitting part and the display part. Thereby, the wiring lead of electrical line on the ink container is made unnecessary, the light emission source and the display part can be respectively arranged to optimum positions and the degree of freedom of arrangement of the display part to the position where user's visibility is satisfactory can be secured.
