Burning material or burning agent for burning in chimney stoves and for generating energy and heat, comprises solid grass/wax mixture or hay/wax mixture or chipped wood/wax mixture. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing the burning material or burning agent, comprising: (a) heating the wax, (b) mixing the wax with grass or hay or chipped wood, (c) pressing the resulting mixture, and (d) cooling and drying; and (2) a device for producing the burning material or burning agent, comprising a heatable container for the intake and liquefaction of the wax, at least one container for the addition of grass or hay or wood chips to the wax, where the container for the intake of the wax and the container for the addition of grass or hay or wood chips to the wax, are connected with each other by an opening, and the device for pressing the grass or hay or wood chips and for pressing the liquefied wax is provided in the direction of opening.
