The device has an operating concept control module (1), a driving strategy control module (2), a transmission function control module (3) and an actuator control module (4) that are connected one behind the other, and a signal processing module (5). A monitoring device (12) covers the control modules. The monitoring device monitors output parameters of the actuator control module based on plausibilised measuring signals of a system to be controlled i.e. transmission, for functional inspection of the control modules without accessing the output parameters of the control modules (1, 2, 3).
