The bonnet has an inner shell (1) that limits a hollow space in a front edge area (4) of the bonnet. A roof stick (2) supporting an outer shell extends in a width direction of the bonnet in the hollow space. A compressable structure (10) is provided between a middle area of the roof stick and the inner shell. A latch plate of a bonnet lock is arranged at an area of the inner shell, where area of the inner shell is reinforced by the compressable structure. The roof stick exhibits two end sections (8) that are bent downward and are arranged on two front edges (7) of the inner shell.
