The method involves insert molding a punched grid (122) with a plastic material. A holder (116) is connected with the punched grid, where a sensor element (112), particularly a magnetic sensor is electrically connected with the punched grid. A media-resistant sheath partly surrounds the punched grid, the holder and the sensor element. An independent claim is also included for a sensor for detecting a physical or a chemical measured variable.
