PURPOSE: A method and a system for performing handoff of a mobile network using PMIPv6(Proxy Mobile Internet Protocol version 6) are provided to support mobility of a mobile network under PMIPv6. CONSTITUTION: An MR(Mobile Router) generates a pHoA (proxy Home Address) using HNP(Home Network Prefix) information. The MR sets the generated pHoA as a CoA(Care of Address). The MR transmits a BU(Bounding Update) message including the CoA, MNP(Mobile Network Prefix) information, and initial HoA(Home of Address) of the MR to an HA(Home Agent) of an initial domain. The HA binds the CoA with the initial HoA.
