A combination reservoir and air dryer, with a reservoir having a port for receiving or dispensing air; and an air/liquid separator having a housing with an inlet, an outlet, and a membrane separator positioned within the housing between the inlet and the outlet and to drain directly into the reservoir. One of the inlet and the outlet are in communication with the port and the other one of the inlet and the outlet is in communication with the reservoir. The housing and the membrane separator are axially aligned with the port. The axial alignment allows for easy access of the filter via the reservoir port through an existing cover plate, thereby reducing maintenance time. Also, there is no need for the filter housing to be pressure proof. Additionally, the flow of air through the system is improved. |
