The device (10) has a cartridge (12) comprising a piston, where the cartridge is provided for receiving a dental substance. A deploying nozzle (14) covers an outlet opening (20) provided in the cartridge and is connected with the cartridge in a form-fit manner. The deploying nozzle and/or the cartridge or cartridge transition areas have a venting channel which extends outwardly from an interior of the cartridge. The clear width or diameter of the venting channel is formed such that an outlet of the dental substance is blocked by the channel.
