The method involves performing impedance measurement of a measuring object (8), and performing time-domain reflection measurement with separation of leading- and returning signal by a bi-directional directional coupler (3). Data from the impedance measurement are processed in a computer unit (5). A complex reflection factor is determined by dividing signals. A complex reflection factor is released by calibration in the frequency region of influences of pre-measuring cable (7) and separation filter (6). The corrected data is supplied for data acquisition (4).
