A partitioning system comprises a first elongate metallic multi-sided mounting member 50L within which a second elongate member 40S,40A is releasably attached using concealed retention means 11. The first member may be steel or aluminium, the second may be metallic or wood. The retention means may be a steel or plastics clip. In use the first member is preferably positioned vertically as a post, the coordination of the first and second members preferably grips panels of wallboard 12 or glass 6,7 in either a multi-skinned or single-skin fashion. The system may be used with internal blinds 25 (for a glass panel) or insulation 30 (with wallboard) preferably positioned with their lateral extremities hidden in a channel of the first member. The system preferably allows for easy mounting and disassembly of the partition system, and for a high level of customisability such that for example wooden and metallic second members may be used on opposite sides of a single first member and wallboards and glass windows can be easily interchanged in a modular fashion. Also claimed is a component having an elongate steel primary member having a symmetrical profile expressing two opposing faces with central open convergent-tapered legs and two opposing inward channel recesses. |
