PURPOSE: A display information control device and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to intuitively search a file or a folder, thereby shortening search time. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(110) displays one or more icons on the first area of a display. An input unit(120) receives an input signal corresponding to the second area of the display from a user. A selecting unit(130) selects one or more icons based on the first and second areas. A control unit(140) controls a predetermined operation corresponding to the selected icon. The icon is related to at least one among files or folders.
