PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for touch input of a portable terminal are provided to reduce touch input errors. CONSTITUTION: A pattern analyzing unit(104) detects touch input and touch input cancellation. The pattern analyzing unit compares the touch input inputted by a user with input that the user intends to analyze. The pattern analyzing unit determines a touch input pattern. A touch managing unit(106) changes a touch input range according to the analyzed touch input pattern.
