PURPOSE: A navigation device and route display method using the same are intended to provide a 2D branch diagram and a 3D branch diagram by generating and exaggerating the shape of the branch detected according to a route search. CONSTITUTION: A navigation device comprises a controller(104) and a video processor(112). The controller creates each branch shape corresponding to each branch point on the searched driving route. The controller creates a 2D branch diagram and a 3D branch diagram. The video processor processes and displays the 2D branch diagram or the 3D branch diagram supplied from the controller. The controller creates and exaggerates the branch shape. The controller designates the width of the road through a buffering technique using descriptive data, such as the number of lanes.
