ANTICANCER COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING CEDROL IN NANOPARTICLE FORM

PURPOSE: A composition containing cedrol in a nanoparticle for treating and preventing cancer is provided to reduce side effects, to maximize drug effect, and to induce apoptosis of cancer cells. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing cedrol and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof comprises: a step of dissolving cedrol or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in organic solvent; a step of mizing 3-7% of surfactant with amphipathic biopolymer; a step of pulverizing the mixture to form emulsion; a step of centrifuging the emulsion 4-6 times; and a step of washing and drying. The amphipathic biopolymer is poly(lactic acid) or poly(lactic acid-co-glycolic acid). The surfactant is polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyacrylic acid, or mixture derivative thereof. A composition for preventing and treating cancer contains cedrol or pharmaceutically acceptable salt nano particle.
