PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for detecting an abnormal nozzle of a printer head is provided to accurately detect an abnormal nozzle in short time by detecting an abnormal nozzle base on an amplified signal. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting an abnormal nozzle of a printer head includes the next step. A beam permeated into an ink discharged from a nozzle of a printer head is sensed(400). A detected signal is amplified by using an amplifier amplifying based on the same DC voltage with the DC level of alternating current wave-type inputted and a current/voltage amplifier(410). The defective nozzle of a printer head is detected based on the amplified signal(420). The step of amplifying the detected signal comprises the next step. The detected signal is amplified into the first by using the current/voltage amplifier. The first amplified signal is amplified into the second amplifying based on the same DC voltage with the DC level of the amplified signal. The second amplified signal is outputted to the square wave by using a slicer circuit.
