PURPOSE: A digital television(DTV) and a method for setting an operational environment for each user in the DTV are provided to load the operational environment for a corresponding user when the user is changed. CONSTITUTION: A user registration window is displayed on a first displaying unit in order to set an operational environment for a user(S210). Management information for a user is inputted in the user registration window through a key input(S220). When the input related to environment information is requested, the environment information is inputted(S240). A controller generates icons for the user. The icons are displayed on a second displaying unit(S250).
