The method involves maintaining an end of a tube using a maintenance mechanism imposing a predetermined orientation of an axis of the end allowing a connection of the end on a mouthpiece while leaving the end free in translation in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the end. Position of the end is evaluated with respect to predetermined tolerances when another end of the tube is fixed on a reference mouthpiece-holder, where loose fixation of the latter end to the holder allows rotation of the tube around the latter end. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a tube.
