AN AIR CONDITIONER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An air-conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to clean a heat exchanger and to dry the cleaned heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION: An air-conditioner comprises heat exchangers(30,40), a cleaning device, a drying member, and a refrigerant converting device. The cleaning device cleans the heat exchangers. The drying member dries the cleaned heat exchangers. The refrigerant converting device converts refrigerant flow to perform one of a cooling mode and a heating mode. The drying member includes a controller. The controller drives the heat exchanger in the heating mode by controlling the refrigerant converting device. The heat exchanger comprises the first temperature sensor(80) installed at the inlet line of the heat exchanger and the second temperature sensor(90) installed at the outlet line of the heat exchanger, the controller stops the operation of the heating mode, if the difference between the values measured with the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor is within a deviation range which is preset in the controller.
