The invention relates to a method for improving a TCP transmission process in case the physical transmission medium is disconnected. In said method, a server (12) transmits a data packet to a client (10) once a TCP connection has been established between the client (10) and the server (12), and the client (10) acknowledges receipt of the data packet to the server (12) by transmitting an acknowledgement message (ACK message) associated with the received data packet. When the acknowledgement message is transmitted, a timer (14) having a preset time T1 is started at the client (10) end, and the same acknowledgement message is repeatedly transmitted to the server (12) if the client (10) has received no other data packet from the server (12) by the end of said time T1. |
