PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source driving method and a light source apparatus for carrying out the method. SOLUTION: The light source apparatus includes a plurality of light-emitting blocks, a local dimming control part, and a light source driving part. Each light-emitting block includes a first color light source that emits first color light and a second color light source that emits second color light, wherein a third color chip and a fourth color phosphor covering the third color chip forms one package. The local dimming control part compensates driving currents for the first and second color light sources of each light-emitting block. The light source driving part drives the first and second color light sources according to the compensated driving currents.
