<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a printing efficiency decreases because of fragmentation of an empty region of a memory. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus includes: a data processing part, which generates raster data for printing by analyzing a command by a page description language; and a memory management part, which preliminarily secures a memory block for use in processing of a specific purpose to the command within a work memory, secures in the memory block and offers to the data processing part a memory region necessary for the processing every time the processing of the specific purpose to the command is carried out by the data processing part, and also releases the memory block all together by a predetermined timing.
