PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure formed by laser welding and spot welding for reducing the width of a flange by bringing a spot welding point close to a laser welding mark while elongating a current passage via the laser welding mark in spot welding. SOLUTION: A B pillar outer 4 and a B pillar inner 20 are spot welded so that the spot welding points 4b and 23 are arranged apart from each other in a longitudinal direction of an outer panel 32a at the outer end side of the laser welding mark 32e in a width direction of the flange 32A. In at least one of the flanges 32c and 32d, a slit 32f which penetrates in a thickness direction and has a predetermined length in a plane direction of the flange 32A is opened between the spot welding points 4b and 23 and the laser welding mark 32e in the width direction of the flange 32A.
