<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device capable of understanding in advance that an organic EL element is deteriorated by moisture and oxygen gas, and to provide electronic equipment having the organic EL device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the organic EL device 100, a light-emitting region 10a preparing the organic EL element 80 is covered with a sealing body 90 on an element substrate 10. A response body 210 wherein its characteristics change in contact with one of the moisture and the oxygen gas is arranged inside rather than an outer surface of the sealing body 90, and a monitoring means 220 monitors characteristic change of the response body 210 resulted from contact with the moisture and the oxygen gas.
