<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently shorten a time for calculation in searching for an optimal shape of a fluid path by considering whether of not a flow is separated with respect to a design support device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the design support device for obtaining an optimal shape of an intake port which satisfies an evaluation index (tambour ratio and the like) targeted by a numerical value fluid calculation, it is determined whether or not a new design variable to be newly analyzed is similar to design variables in the past already analyzed. It is determined whether or not a result of analysis of the evaluation index causes flow separation. When it is determined that the new design variable is similar to the past design variables, a result of analysis of the evaluation index to the past design variable which is similar to the new design variable and does not cause separation is assigned as a result of analysis of the evaluation index to the new design variable.
