The method involves determining position of a danger source i.e. ahead-driving vehicle (3), detected by a sensor system in surrounding of a vehicle (1). Acoustic warning signals are generated in an inner area of the vehicle based on the position of the danger source, where the acoustic warning signals comprise a virtual sound centrum (C) that is moved from a starting point (D) to the position of the danger source in a time interval of 0.25 seconds, and a consequence of acoustic warning signals is generated until the danger source is present in the surrounding of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a device for acoustic warning against source of danger in surrounding of a motor vehicle.
