<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collecting hood used for excavated pieces and excavated scraps generated during excavation, and achieving easy attachment of a seal element if needed. <P>SOLUTION: In this dust collecting hood, a base body 12 surrounding a receiving space 13 includes a projecting connection 14 for connection with the hose of a vacuum source and an opening 15 provided with a seal device 21 having a through guide opening 22 for a tool, the seal device 21 is provided with at least one seal element 23 having the through guide opening 22 for the tool and a retaining element 31 for fixing at least one seal element 23 to the base body 12, and, with the retaining element 31 fixed, at least one seal element 23 is fixed between the retaining element 31 and the base body 12.
