PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and efficiently separating and removing fluorine at a low cost from fluorine-containing waste water produced at non-ferrous metal refining process and further constantly separating and removing fluorine stably and surely without depending on fluorine concentration and sodium sulfate concentration or the like in the waste water. SOLUTION: When a calcium compound is added to fluorine-containing waste water containing sodium sulfate produced at the non-ferrous metal refining process to separate fluorine by precipitation as calcium fluoride, concentration of sodium sulfate contained in the fluorine-containing waste water is controlled to 15 g/l or less.
