PURPOSE: A refrigerator control device and a control method thereof are provided to detect the inner and outer states of a refrigerator and electric consumption and to supply information on the discharge amount of the greenhouse gas of an energy source and power rates. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator control device comprises a state detection unit(430), a control unit(410), an output unit(470), an electric energy detecting unit. The state detection unit detects a plurality of states from the inside and the outside of a refrigerator. The control unit comprises a predicted electric energy calculating unit and generates one or more messages corresponding to the inner and outer states of the refrigerator. The predicted electric energy calculating unit calculates a predicted electric energy based on the states. The output unit outputs the predicted electric energy and the messages. The electric energy detecting unit is connected to an input power supply and detects the electric energy supplied to the refrigerator. The state detecting unit comprises a frequency detection unit. The frequency detection unit detects the driving frequency of a compressor driving the refrigerator.
