PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a throughput decrease due to the execution of a flushing operation. SOLUTION: An ink receiving part 17 for receiving ink discharged by the flushing operation of a printing head 11 is set between transfer routes of paper sheets 2 and 3 arranged in two rows and transferred by a transfer roller unit 5. In the case of carrying out printing to both the paper sheets 2 and 3, the printing head 11 does not required to move to the outer side than the transfer routes of the papers 2 and 3 to carry out the flushing operation. When only a part of a plurality of jet nozzles 11a faces the ink-receiving part 17 while the printing head 11 moves frontward or backward, flushing operations for the part of the jet nozzles 11a are sequentially carried out.
