<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inductor having such a structure that a breakdown voltage is taken into consideration and a distance between an interconnect and an interconnect lead is taken into sufficient consideration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The inductor has an insulated and coated conductor wound around a drum type core 3 having flanges at both ends of a roll and made of ferrite, and the drum type core is provided with a plurality of recessed parts in outer edges of both the flanges 3a and 3b, and through-holes 5 penetrating nearly center parts of the flanges. Further, a drum type core has recessed parts 4a and 4b, and 4c and 4d in outer edges of both flanges, and is provided with a groove in a roll of the drum core and the flanges at both ends from outer peripheries almost to the center of the roll.
