PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of efficiently using a backing sheet for reuse without causing trouble in a fixing device. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a recording means for recording addition information on paper by using a specific pattern hardly discriminated by naked eye, in addition to information recorded by a user; a plurality of reading means for reading the addition information recorded on both sides of the paper supplied from a paper feed cassette; a recording means for recording information on the type of toner used in the image forming apparatus or a coverage rate of information recorded by the user, as the addition information; a determination means for determining whether it is printable on the paper in accordance with the information added on the paper on the type of toner or the coverage and read by the reading means; a print stop means for stopping the printing for the paper determined as not printable by the determination means; a paper ejection means for ejecting the paper subjected to print stop by the print stop means before fixing; and a transfer means for transferring the image information determined as not printable by the determination means to another image forming apparatus on a network.
