<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing toner having a uniform particle shape and a narrow width of grain size distribution and capable of improving uniformity in the density of a solid image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a toner includes: a color resin particle dispersion step; a flocculation step; and a unification step. In the color resin particle dispersion step, slurry of color resin particles having a volume average particle diameter of not more than 1 μm is obtained by a high-pressure homogenizer method in the presence of a dispersant containing organic resin fine particles. In the flocculation step, the color resin particles are flocculated to obtain flocculated particles by adding a flocculant to the slurry of the color resin particles, and in the unification step, the flocculated particles are unified by heating to obtain the toner mother particles.
