A parachute pack cover has a base and a flap secured to a side of the base throughout the length of the side and provided with a corner covering extension projecting beyond the corner of the base and the adjacent end of the side, the base and extension having releasable connecting means for holding the extension in corner covering relation to the base. Fig. 2 shows a pack comprising a base 2, ends flaps 6 and 8, and side flaps 14 and 16, the latter flaps having extensions 30. The canopy and shroud lines are placed in the pack, the harness extending through slots 26 formed between flap 6 and the base 2. The flaps 6 and 8 are folded over, and then flaps 14 and 16. Conventional cone and grommet fastenings 42, 44 are used. The extensions 30 are passed around the corners of the base and fastened to the underside thereof as seen in Fig. 3, by straps 32 passing through fabric loops 36 on the base and secured by press studs 34. The extensions remain secured while the canopy is being deployed. |
