<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving an image display device, improving a contrast. <P>SOLUTION: As the method of the image display device provided with a first switching element 13 which short-circuits the gate electrode of a driver element 12 connected to a light emitting element 10 and one of the source electrode and drain electrode of the driver element 12, a first process and a second process are executed. The first process is for supplying a potential to the gate electrode of the driver element 12 of each pixel, in such a state that the first switching element 13 is turned on and the driver element 12 is turned off, and the second process is for turning on the first switching element 13 and turning on the driver element 12, so that the potential of the gate electrode with respect to the other of the source electrode and drain electrode of the driver element 12 is higher than a drive threshold and then, supplying a current to the other of the source electrode and drain electrode of the driver element 12 from the gate electrode of the driver element 12 through the first switching element 13, so that the potential of the gate electrode with respect to the other of the source electrode and drain electrode of the driver element 12 is the drive threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
