<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium which shows its proofness of distortion or transfer irregularities, and also, its capability to obtain a sharp image. <P>SOLUTION: This thermal transfer recording medium has a heat-resistant lubricating layer, which contains one or not less than two anionic surfactants selected from the group consisting of a resin binder, a phosphoric ester and a phosphoric ester salt, a carboxylate, a sulfate and a sulfonate, formed on one of the surfaces of a basic material film.
