PROCESS FOR TREATING AN OPHTHALMIC LENS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid impairment to the characteristics of a film deposited on one main side, in depositing a thin film on the other main side of a lens with the thin film deposited on the one main side.

SOLUTION: A hydrophobic and/or an oleophobic films are/is first formed on the one main side of the lens (the main side on which the thin film has already been deposited). Then the other main side of the lens is treated with high energy and/or reactive chemical species, and at the same time or subsequently is subjected to the treatment step, an inorganic or organic film is deposited on the other main side.
