PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor which can be made compact because the magnetic force does not deteriorate even when a permanent magnet is fixed to a shaft while locating one end thereof in close proximity to the flange. SOLUTION: The rotor body 4 has a shaft 4a and a flange 4b. A permanent magnet 3 is fixed to the shaft 4a so that the lower end thereof is located in close proximity to the flange 4b of the rotor body 4. A plurality of segment magnets 11 are arranged annularly on the side of the permanent magnet 3 near the flange 4b, and an integrated ring magnet 12 is arranged at the remaining portion.
