PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing a production amount of phenol produced as a decomposed product of triphenyl phosphite used as a condensation agent in the production of a polymer having a sulfonic acid group and an amide group. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the polymer including a unit represented by chemical formula (1):-CONH-B1-SO<SB>3</SB>H, a polymer including a unit represented by chemical formula (2):-COOH and at least one amine compound including a sulfonic acid group represented by chemical formula (3): H<SB>2</SB>N-B1-SO<SB>3</SB>H are used together with a triphenyl phosphite and trialkyl phosphite (alkyl is selected from methyl, ethyl and propyl).
