<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of the conventional auxiliary stand for uneven parallel bars, wherein a box-shaped step tread type has a difficulty in stability because it is placed on a floor surface or a ground mat in use, besides it cannot be used in the uneven parallel bars installed at a pit, further the width of the step tread is limited because it is mounted to a single post such as a high strut in a high strut mount type step tread, and further in controlling the width, the step tread is inclined not to perform enough assisting operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A freely elevating guide strut freely elevating on freely elevating composite strut and high strut is provided at the substantially central part of an expandable and contractible lever horizontally supported at predetermined upper and lower positions of the high strut and the low strut, respectively. The respective upper end parts and one side of a wide step tread are journaled to each other, the respective predetermined positions of the other side, the composite strut and the guide strut are connected to each other by a stay to be used even in the parallel bars installed in the pit.
