A steam turbine has a plurality of rotary blades that are formed integral with a rotor around the rotor, and a plurality of stationary blades that are disposed around the rotor and secured to a casing that covers the rotor, the rotary blades and the stationary blades forming a turbine section. The plurality of stationary blades has an inner diaphragm that faces a rotary disc. Each of the rotary disc and the inner diaphragm has a coolant passage in the axial direction. Coolant flows out of the passage in the rotary disc diverts into the passage in the diaphragm and into a labyrinth between the inner diaphragm and the rotor.
