<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle device for a vehicle capable of maintaining a door locked state by a locking device when an excessive external force acts on an operation handle. <P>SOLUTION: This handle device 11 for the vehicle includes the operation handle 17 for releasing the locking device 35 for locking (engaging) a door (a rear right door 13), a cable (an open cable 33) for transmitting an operation force of the operation handle to the locking device, and a handle base 41 incorporating the operation handle and the cable 33.
